one of my favorite singers, roisin murphy is making her us debut in nyc on oct 24th!
i am sooooo bummed out! she needs to visit la or i need to visit nyc!
ugh!
so sad!
if you haven't heard of roisin, you probably are wrong... she used to be in a band called moloko. they sang that theme song to great expectations called ingenue... it's a haunting song and unfortunately it's more creepie since gwyenth paltrow was in it. i kid.
anyways. i love roisin for several reasons. i think she writes the most cerebral disco flavored songs ever. an example is the song overpowered. the song is about oxytocin... the orgasm hormone... as well as the lactating hormone. that's so hot! another reason i love her so is that she rocks the gareth pugh couture shite like it's her second skin. and she dances.
i don't know if i ever posted her videos on here.. but i will now. these three songs are awesome! she also recorded a song with calvin harris called off & on which was amazing and was for the overpowered record but she ended up tossing it.. which is a shame cause i think it's AMAZING!
OVERPOWERED

textual attraction
i was trying to reach my friend brooke in ny but she was a ho and didn't pick up my phone calls for awhile... so i decided to call her sister, sage....
since i know sage to a certain extent (we see each other everytime i am in nyc and we always seem to bump into each other on the streets, the restaurants, etc)....
sage is a total character! and she has a great sense of humor!
so i called sage to make sure that brooke was alright but she didn't pick up the phone (probably because she didn't know my number).... but she did end up texting me.... and then that started probably the most entertaining text conversations ever. (spelling as is... i hate text spelling!)
********************************************************
sage: who is this?
me: erykah badu
sage: christanne?
me: who's that? This is carlos. Wassup sugartits?
sage: who the hell is carlos?

sage: Who is your man!I am not with your man!
sage: I only date single guys and am far from a whore this must be white trash ----- (name)
me: Face it. U love this drama. Why don't u write a poem bout it so I can read it on ur blog.
sage: Who is your man and how did you get my number? why are you contacting me?
me: cuz I wanna hook up with u & ur sis.
sage: Bye bye you are sick.
*********************************************************
THE END
i'm glad that sage has a great sense of humor because she told her sister about the text conversation and brooke said it was hilarious to hear about it.
i thought i'd type this out since my text messages cannot be saved and my phone is over 2 years old and in its geriatric life-stage.

bernie mac meal please
this isn't my own photo. i am not a star-fucker. i leave my celebs be.

first off, i've been at the vet all day (nightmare, willow has a broken femur and it's not easily fixable at allllllllll) and just got home, sleepy cause i didn't sleep last night, and i heard that bernie mac died!?!?!
here is my bernie mac story:
i am a surface magazine avant guardian. so each year, i'm invited to the party that introduces the new batch of up and coming avant guardian photographers.
i'm in nyc and ming and i are there.
we're walking around people watching and bernie mac is walking to me.
so i squeal to ming "oh my gosh, it's bernie mac!!!!" and i'm all giggles.
he's walking to me so he notices me notice him. i smile at him and then he smiles at me and looks at me and goes:
"hey. what's up?"
and then i smiled and giggled some more and then we parted ways.
awesome. it made my night!
one of these days i'll tell you about my hank azaria nightmare of a party bump. he's weird.

girls gone wildlife

www.girlsgonewildlife.org
my friends debbie and karin just began their cross-country trek across america (los angeles to new york city) on sunday. i was lucky enough to spend half of that day with them before they took off!
we went to have vegan lunch in santa monica and then we held some ribbon up for them to cross to signify the starting-line of their journey at the santa monica pier!
it was pretty awe-inspiring and scary at the same time!
go check out their website and diary as they cross america to promote environmental causes as well as the world wildlife fund!
here's me on karin's bicycle. it was HEAVY with shit that they're gonna need during their trip like tents, sleeping bags, clothes, bike fixing supplies, first aid kit, maps, cameras, food, and stuff like that.

sex and the city: the movie

so after the death of my beloved houdini, i took a shower and thought that maybe going to see the sex and the city movie would make me feel better.
i was right. i cried several times throughout the movie and i laughed several times throughout the movie.
it definitely made me miss new york city and i am even more close to samantha's character since she moved to los angeles and got fat. all that i'm missing is the next door neighbor with a giant uncut penis.
i highly recommend the movie to anyone whos'... well, anyone.

malls
I HATE MALLS.
when i am bored in los angeles, there are few things i can do outside my home that is near me. one of the things i do is go to the mall. I HATE THE MALL. it's one of the few places that will temporarily distract me. although, when i say distraction, i mean, distraction by annoyance. i hate going to the same stores that are found in every WESTFIELD malls: old navy, the gap, hot topic, torrid, the body shop, hollister, frederick's of hollywood.
the other day, phillip and i were bored and so we decided that we needed to do something. so he said "lets do what you love to do... go to the mall." and that sorta bothered me. cause in the near decade that i was in nyc, i was in the manhattan mall maybe a total of five times... and in those five times, it was because i couldn't find the right exit for the n,r,q,w train and ended up on the escalators for the manhattan mall (the subway is connected to it for you non-new yorkers).
this weekend, phillip, ana, saul, and i went to the glendale galleria. i've only been there once before, for approximately ten minutes because juanita was looking for her wedding dress at macy's and the only macy's with the correct size was at the glendale galleria... so we got there ten minutes before closing time to pick it up. i don't even remember if she bought it.... but that was my only taste of g.g. before this weekend.
after trekking through the mall for THREE hours.... i decided that I HATE MALLS FOREVER.
the same stores in every mall... victoria secrets, the gap, the body shop, bath and body works, hollister, american eagle outfitters, a&f, frederick's of hollywood... i hate it i hate it i hate it.
i think i had a panic attack and broke down.
i went to southcoast plaza last year for about two hours. it's better than the other westfield malls... but every store is a mini-store. they had a gucci, ysl, chanel, etc... but they were mini-stores. it was nice, but at the same time, that mall mentality drove me insane. the ramps, escalators, mini-stairs, giant christmas tree, and that feeling of going in circles started to get to me and i left.
i think i'm slowly going crazy because of this.
someone send me a ticket to nyc now. or maybe even paris. i need to go visit paris tout suite.
